STAR FM has appointed Comfort Mbofana as acting programmes manager following the suspension of Tichaona Matambanadzo, popularly known as Tich Mataz, on fraud allegations.

The station’s general manager Admire Taderera confirmed the appointment of Mbofana as acting programmes manager.
“We have appointed one of our senior members Comfort Mbofana to be the acting programmes manager until the Tich Mataz issue is put to rest. As we are talking he has started on his duties,” he said.
Tich Mataz was suspended after the station launched an investigation into claims that he diverted advertising revenues to two companies where he is believed to have interests.
He was suspended together with AC Lumumba, who hosted a talk show. The two are under investigation.
The Star FM staffers are being investigated after an internal audit revealed irregular transactions involving two companies — Hamtech Investments and Onesay Investments — which Tich Mataz is believed to have interests in.
Zimbabwe Newspaper’s group, who own the radio station, went on to advise its advertisers not to engagedealings with the two individuals, as they were not agencies of Star FM.
