PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe yesterday warned Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai that he would be arrested if he announced Wednesday’s election results ahead of the Zimbabwe Election Commission (ZEC).

Mugabe told his final campaign rally at the National Sports Stadium in Harare that Tsvangirai’s threats not to wait for the official results were against the law.

“I can tell you in advance that if you breach the law and become a law breaker, the police will arrest you,” the Zanu PF leader said.

He said Zanu PF was confident of winning the polls and once again dismissed MDC-T as puppets of the West.

“Tsvangirai and his MDC are shameless Western puppets, created by the West, funded and controlled by the West, and I urge you to reject them once and for all in these elections,” Mugabe said.

He joked that he would suffer heart failure if Harare voted for MDC-T again.

Tsvangirai has claimed that Zanu PF is working with ZEC to rig the harmonised elections.
