John Moyo of Kusile village, under Chief Sogwala, sustained cuts on hands and a swollen face after Tinashe Ncube allegedly assaulted him on his hands and back, accusing him of refusing to deliver his message that Moyo’s father should not arrest people.

It is the State’s case that on June 29, 2006 and at around 6pm, the accused approached the complainant and ordered him to tell his father, a police constabulary, that he should not arrest people.

The complainant refused to convey the message and told the accused to stop committing crime and avoid being arrested. This angered the accused who assaulted the complainant with a machete and booted feet. The complainant sustained cuts on his hands and a swollen face.

Trial in the matter has been set for August 30.
