Tshanda, famously referred to as the Big Husband, is scheduled to perform alongside local artistes, among them Martin Sibanda and the Ndolwane Super Sounds during a two-day expedition, firstly in Bulawayo, before serenading Hwange the following day.

The shows are slated for August 30 and 31 at Bulawayo Amphitheatre and Hwange Colliery Stadium respectively. Other prominent names from Tshanda’s stable such as Peacock, Dalom Kids and Matshikos will be featured.

Other local musicians to perform alongside Tshanda’s impressive stable apart from Sibanda and Ndolwane Super Sounds will include Callistus Tavengwa, the Zion Crew and Dubia Masters Band.

In an interview with Southern Eye Lifestyle, Kingstone Lussate, manager of Lussate Marketing Promotions, said Tshanda had promised fireworks. “We expect a lot from Dan and also from the local artistes that are going to be part of the supporting acts. I can tell you that they are all well motivated and are rearing to go.

“We promise nothing but fireworks to the legion of Dan Tshanda fans. This time Dan’s shows will be handled professionally than previous ones. We promise full bar and catering, tight security and a state-of-the-art sound system,” Lussate added.

Tshanda is expected to jet into the country four days before the first show in Bulawayo “in order for him to do a series of roadshows in the city to hype up the shows”, according to Lussate.

The Big Husband has produced more than 20 albums in the last decade. He commands a huge following in the southern regions of Zimbabwe as well as in Southern Africa.

He founded the Dan Tshanda Foundation, an institution that assists musicians that do not have the ability to market their music on their own.
