Sources yesterday said the former Defence minister was admitted at the Avenues Clinic’s High Dependency Unit on August 7 for an undisclosed ailment.

“He has been here since August 7, but you can get further details on his condition from relatives or doctors authorised to do so,” a source, who requested anonymity on professional grounds, said.

Although Nkala’s condition could not be immediately ascertained, reports early this year said the veteran politician had developed kidney and heart-related complications — which had previously led to his admission at Marter Dei Hospital in Bulawayo between March and April.
