Dj Stavo, who hails from the Midlands town of Kwekwe, is scheduled to perform in the UK from September 20 to 21. He will kick off his tour with a performance in Birmingham at La Reference before rounding off his trip with a gig at Club Swagga in London.

The Kwekwe Hustler, as he is also known, confirmed the tour to Southern Eye Lifestyle yesterday. “Next month I’m going to perform in the UK for the first time and I am excited about it and hope the two shows will be a success.

“I will treat the UK fans to some Zimbabwean flavour and will play more local tracks in an attempt to promote local artistes,” Dj Stavo said. He will be supported by UK-based deejays King Alfred, Dj Tee, Andy Blixx and music will be provided by Fire Sound, Mc-Dragon and Sir Charlie.

“We hope to indulge in new productions there in the UK,” Dj Stavo added. He is riding high with the single YOLO which featured Trevor Dongo and Sweet Love with Roki, Ex Q, Botswana’s Simple Night and Zeus.

His video for Mnandi, which featured South African Mandoza, has been making waves on Africa’s prestigious television station Channel O. Born in a family of three, the artist grew up in Kwekwe and is married to Kudzai with whom he has two children, Shaun and Jamie. His speciality is in urban grooves, R&B and hip-hop.

DJ Stavo runs Golden Mile Motel and King Solomon’s Night Club in Kwekwe.
