CHICKEN Inn are now waiting for an offer from South African club Mpumalanga Black Aces who have expressed interest in signing Zimbabwe’s Premier Soccer League leading goal-scorer Tendai Ndoro.

REPORT BY TAWANDA TAFIRENYIKA

Club chairman Lifa Ncube said they were aware of the interest by Aces to sign the country’s leading scorer and were expecting an offer from Aces yesterday.

“Those on the ground have told us the player impressed during trials and now Mpumalanga Black Aces are preparing to discuss with us. Right now we have not received official communication from the club, but we expect them to contact us before the end of the day (yesterday). We are waiting to hear from them. Once all the details are available I will notify you,” Ncube said.

Ndoro was part of the squad preparing for the return leg of the African Nations Championship final qualifier against Zambia which Zimbabwe won 1-0. But left camp to attend the trials.

The Zimbabwean striker whose mix of strength, technique and timing makes him the ultimate goal predator that he is, made a huge impression after arriving at Aces last week.

He has scored 11 goals this season and already has a Net One Charity Shield medal in his cabinet.

According to reports from South Africa, Ndoro was thrown into the fray in a friendly match against SuperSport United soon after joining Aces on trial and made a huge impression that left the club convinced he was what they needed.

With Chicken Inn also eager to trade on their top striker – a deal is expected to be concluded before the close of the transfer window tomorrow.

Ndoro has rocked domestic football with his scoring abilities which have seen him banging in 11 goals in the league making him the leading goalscorer with the league programme having just passed the half-way mark.

He also scored two great goals at the Cosafa Castle Senior Challenge Cup tournament in Zambia in July as the Warriors defeated Lesotho to book a place in the final which they, however, lost to Zambia.

The Zimbabwean striker, who also attracted the interest of Bidvest Wits and University of Pretoria, will link up with fellow countryman Method Mwanjali already on their books. He will become the fifth foreigner at Aces after Eduardo Ferreira, Mwanjali, Onyekachi Okonkwo and Ofentse Nato.
