Musonho wins women’s Black Label pool finals

Shylet Musonho of Exchange Pool Club won the Bulawayo Provincial Black Label Pool Tournament finals in the women’s category after scoring 14 points at Raylton Sports Club on Sunday. RONALD MOYO Own Correspondent Musonho was tied on 14 points with Sithembiso Dube of Shumba Bar, but came first on head-to-head clashes. Two women will lead the Bulawayo women’s team in the national finals next weekend.

For coming out tops, Musonho walked away with $150 while Dube got $100.

The other women that make the Bulawayo team are Nomalanga Dusart, Gillgower Robyns and Lucy Mpofu, all of Shumba.

Dusart (13 points) got $50 for coming third while Robyns and Mpofu, also tied on 12 points got $20 and $10 respectively with the former coming fourth on head-to-head clashes.

The men’s section was won by Gershom Nash of Kings who beat Terrence Mhindu of Extreme 2-0 in the final.

Nash leads Mhindu, Joseph Tamamikwa, Nicodemus Charandura (Extreme), Evans Dube (Kings), McDonald Shamu of Nkulumane Stars, Hudson Dube of TelOne, Khumbula Maradona of Golden Black in the national finals.

Nash grabbed $250 for winning the men’s finals while Mhindu got $150 and third-placed Tamamikwa ($100), Evans on the fourth spot got $80 while the other four, Charandura, Shamu, Hudson and Khumbula got $30 each for their efforts.

Organising secretary of Bulawayo Pool Association League, Donald Wadawu, was happy with the tournament while sponsors, Delta Beverages representative Nkululeko Hadebe, had this to say: “The tournament was fair and interesting. I wish all those who qualified the best. This is the first time for Bulawayo to host this tournament.”
