NATIONAL Under-19 cricket team coach Walter Chawaguta hopes his players will draw inspiration from their senior counterparts when they take on cricketing giants Australia, South Africa and hosts India in a quadrangular series from September 23 to October 5. SPORTS REPORTER

The Zimbabwe senior cricket last week team caused one of the biggest upsets in international cricket when they stunned Pakistan in the second Test to level the two-match Test series.

Chawaguta, said he had no doubt that the Under-19 side, which leaves for India today, could cause some upsets in the subcontinent.

“Who would have thought that Zimbabwe would beat Pakistan in a Test match, but that’s cricket for you and we are glad because it came at the right time for the Under-19 team.

“Obviously I have been using the national senior team’s win to motivate the guys so that they can have the mentality and self-belief that they can beat any team in the world.

“We have done it before in the past at Under-19 level and I believe at the moment we have quality players in this current team to beat any side,” he said.
