A BULAWAYO businessman Martin Tendai Shone has been brought to court for allegedly robbing a city resident of property worth $1 100, including a revolver. SILAS NKALA STAFF REPORTER
Shone of Hillside suburb was not asked to plead to an armed robbery charge when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Gladmore Mushove on Friday.
The magistrate remanded him in custody for trial.
The court heard that on June 28 at 1pm, Shone with Sikhulile Moyo, Bruce Ziyambi and Morgan Zulani Ndlovu, already in remand facing similar a charge and other four accomplices still at large, hatched a plan to steal from a house along Circular Drive.
Shone allegedly drove his Mercedes Benz to the house where he remained outside the gate while his colleagues who were in a Mazda Rustler entered the yard.
It is the State case that they robbed the occupants of the house of a safe which had $400, jewellery and a 357 Smith and Wesson revolver serial number 4K 94673, which they then loaded in a Madza Rustler and drove away.
Shone allegedly led the convoy after the robbery to number 123 Main Street where he operates a car wash business.
He allegedly went on to share the loot with his colleagues at his business premises before going away.

The court heard that on July 26, Moyo, Ziyambi and Ndlovu were arrested in connection with the armed robbery.
Moyo allegedly led the detectives to the recovery of parts of the safe from Shone’s place.
Ziyambi led the detectives to the recovery of the 357 Smith and Wesson revolver and jewellery.
Ndlovu also led the detectives to the recovery of the fire arm used during the robbery.
Shone was also later arrested.
