The club’s spokesperson Burzil Dube yesterday said they had confidence that the technical team led by Nation Dube would wade them through the murky waters of relegation.

The coal miners picked up a point to remain rooted on position 12 with 26 points and Dube yesterday said the match against the Gishon Ntini-coached Triangle had been tough.

“It was tough in Triangle, but the points that we are picking away from home will definitely aid us in our quest to survive the chop. We do not want to even hear about relegation. We will fight to the end. We will travel to Beitbridge at the weekend to play Harare City in the quarter-finals of the Mbada Diamonds Cup and we must win that game as it will be a booster for us as we move ahead.

“Both the league and Mbada are important for us and the cup tie is definitely going be the right incentive for us to remain in the league if we win,” Dube said.

Before stunning Dynamos 4-2 in a midweek league game last week, Chipangano had beaten FC Platinum to sail through to the Mbada quarter-finals after having picked up another point in the league at Dulibadzimu against strugglers Tripple B.

They have picked up five points in the last three matches in the league without defeat after a 0-1 home defeat to FC Platinum and with 21 points still to fight for, Hwange believe they are on the right track.

They will host Shabanie in their next league assignment before travelling to Bulawayo for Chicken Inn after which they will return to the Colliery for a date with Black Mambas not safe from demotion.

Chipangano will then return to Bulawayo for How Mine, will host Buffaloes, date tricky Black Rhinos at Rimuka before wrapping up the season with Motor Action, who appear to have bade farewell to PSL action.

Tripple B also seem to be on their way back to Division One and on Sunday suffered a 1-3 home defeat to FC Platinum at Dulibadzimu Stadium in Beitbridge.
