TWO suspects accused of stealing $100 000 from the country’s sole ammonium nitrate fertiliser producer Sable Chemicals through fraud had their bail revoked for coming to court late.

Noel Chinyuku (33) a director with United Links Worldwide, a clearing and freighting company and his co-accused Scot Kim who were out on $200 bail, were remanded in custody to today for continuation of trial.
The two whose trial was supposed to continue Monday at 8 am arrived in court after lunch when the court had already issued warrants of arrest against them.
Appearing for the State area prosecutor Salome Maunganidze proposed the cancellation of warrants of arrest against the two saying they were now making coming to court late a habit.
“On several occasions the court has had to sit at the mercy of the accused persons who stroll into court at the time of their choice.
“At times witnesses would have been released and this does not serve the interests of justice,” Maunganidze said.
Magistrate Letwin Rwodzi agreed with the State and revoked bail and sent the two to remand prison.

Chinyuku and Kim allegedly defrauded Sable Chemicals of $100 000 when they connived to dupe Sable Chemicals.
The company owes Sasol in South Africa money for the supply of ammonium, a raw material in the production of fertiliser.
The two allegedly created an e-mail account that was almost identical to that used by Sasol before raising a profoma invoice of $100 000 on a Sasol letterhead demanding payment be made into United Links Worldwide’s Stanbic account.
