THE BULAWAYO Basketball Association (BBA) will today make a final decision on the women’s league match between Ihlathi Hawks and Giants which was cancelled following a last-minute request from the later to have the match postponed.

BBA secretary-general Sikhumbuzo Ndlovu said Giants sent a request for cancellation of the match that had been scheduled for Saturday.
“There was a request at the last minute by Giants to cancel the match against Hawks, I was informed there are logistical problems within the Giants camp.
“The request seemed genuine even the other part, (Hawks) accepted the request,” he said.
Ndlovu said the association will have a meeting with Giants today to hear their problems.
“We are expecting to have a meeting with Giants tomorrow (today) so that we hear the gravity of their situation. We will map the way forward,” he said.
Another notable blow in the Giants camp is the state of their point guard Geraldine Chibonda who sustained a serious injury when Zimbabwe was playing Ivory Coast in the Afro-basket games that were staged in Mozambique last month.
