Mkosana who have been inactive gave away three points to the already promoted Bulawayo Chiefs since they still owe the league affiliation fees.

With only one game to round up the season, Mkosana are third from bottom on 24 points.

Rufaro Rovers rooted on the bottom of the log on 14 points donated three points to former Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Bantu Rovers, third on the log with 53 points.

The game between Bantu and Rufaro Rovers was a walkover in favour of Bantu Rovers as their opponents were yet to pay a fee to the league for failure to fulfil some of their fixtures.

Ajax Hotspur also on relegation worries, were supposed to date New West, but the game was cancelled.

Zifa southern region division one administrator Augustin Ndlovu said match officials ruled the pitch unsuitable for the game.

“The match pitting Ajax Hotspur and New West was cancelled because the match officials said the lines were not clear. The game will be played on a day yet to be advised,” Ndlovu said.

Ajax are second from the bottom with 22 points from 28 matches.

If they win their remaining matches they will complete the season on 28 points on top of Mkosana although their fate has already been decided.

In other matches played on Saturday Tsholotsho stunned Hwange Juniors 1-0. Technosphere cruised over ZPC Hwange by the same scoreline while second-placed Black Boots beat Mpumalanga 2-0 .

Bulawayo Jumbos made their plight tough as they settled for a 1-1 draw against Quelaton, allowing Ntabazinduna to ease their relegation woes.

Ntabazinduna jumped to position 12 after getting three points from Zimbabwe Saints who did not show up for the game.

They are tied on 35 points with Bulawayo Jumbos, but have a superior goal difference.

Although Zifa is yet to decide on the number of teams to be relegated, the two teams are in danger and they have to win their remaining matches in case Zifa decides to relegate four teams.

Ndlovu had this to say: “We are not yet sure of the number of teams that are going to face relegation.

“Normally we relegate four, but we are still waiting to see if any team from the southern region will be relegated from the PSL,” Ndlovu said.

Ntabazinduna head coach Agent Sawu said his side had no relegation worries.

“We are confident we are not going to be relegated, we are going to use our home advantage against Ajax next week. The team is positive,” Sawu said.

Ntabazinduna will wrap up their season against Ajax Hotspur next week at Ntabazinduna and their opponents are inactive as they owe the league funds for failure to fulfill fixtures — that might be an advantage to Sawu’s charges.

Bulawayo Jumbos will play Tsholotsho in their last match of the season.
