French ambassador to Zimbabwe Laurent Delahouse said he will be leading a delegation of investors from France to scout for investment opportunities in a move he said was part of efforts to support the economic recovery of the country.

“I met with 20 French companies in September in Paris who showed great interest in investing in Zimbabwe and a delegation is expected in the country next year to scout for investment opportunities,” Delahouse said.

He said the French business community was still on wait-and-see attitude monitoring policies implemented by the government.

Delahouse said the government move to modify the implementation of the indigenisation law was a positive one expected to attract foreign direct investment which the country is currently in desperate need of.

Indigenisation and Empowerment minister Francis Nhema recently told captains of industry at the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries held in Bulawayo that the government was working on modifying the indigenisation policy to be flexible in its implementation.
