Run by 21-year-old designer, Nkululeko Ncube, who debuted at a clothing indaba held last month, it has caught the eye of many socialites in the country.

Rebelious Klothing now dresses the likes of Langelihle Ndlovu, upcoming musician and television host.

Ndlovu hosts a popular show on Zimbabwe television called Zimbabwe IneStaera.

Stylish actress, television host and fashionista Mbonisi Mahonondo, popularly known as Mbo Mahocs, was clad in Rebelious Klothing on the cover of this month’s Jewel Magazine.

Ncube told Southern Eye Lifestyle that the clothing indaba was a good platform for him to introduce himself to the industry.

“My collection for the debut presentation was ‘The Rebel In Me’ which is an introduction to the Rebelious Klothing,” he said.

Ncube revealed that his designs were meant to break the norms and for people to wear unusual designs on normal days.

“The brand is for individuals that are daring and have the ability to wear the craziest, unimaginable outfits in everyday situations and gives an opportunity for creative minds to embrace their individuality,” Ncube said.

Ncube revealed that his designs were targeted at celebrities, models and trendsetters who will influence whole communities and his rebellious mind inspired his works in a good way.

The young designer said he was inspired by America’s controversial singer Lady Gaga and Black Eyed Peas’ William’s designs.

“Whenever I see a design I think of doing it against the norms and expressing the rebellious mind in me, that’s the new trend I want to set,” Ncube said.

Mbo Mahocs revealed that Ncube’s designs were for the bold and brave.

“His designs have never been seen before. They are for the brave, bold and courageous individuals who are not afraid to come out in the open wearing them because people will be looking at them and wondering what’s going on in their mind,” the stylish Mahocs said.

The young garment marker is under the books of Hunnar Management Agency which has many talents such as designer Shadow by Sdue, Bliq and Tholakele, who was voted this year’s model of the year at the Zimbabwe fashion week, among others.

Gilmore Moyo of Hunnar Management Agency said that Ncube’s fearless being was what attracted them to him.

“There is no one yet as daring as him and that is what fashion is all about. We don’t want to see the same things always. He is unpredictable,” Moyo said.

“We are willing to make him a household name. We are looking forward for a West African fair. We intend to send him there and also a solo launch show to formally introduce him into the industry,” Moyo said.

The Nkayi-born Ncube grew up in Bulawayo, comes from a family of three. He went to Njube High School before going to Speciss College.
