The groups which have been thrown a golden opportunity to prove their worth at the hip-hop jamboree billed for December 11 at 7Arts Theatre in Harare, have promised to set revellers aglow through well-orchestrated performances.

They will also hope to use the opportunity to market themselves. Artistes from the southern region of the country have bemoaned marginalisation which they claim is characteried by lack of funding and broadcasting black-out.

Kasilami Art Platform (Klap) one of the nominees, said preparations were on course and they were ready for the event.

Polite Sithole, the producer of Klap confided to Southern Eye Lifestyle that they had roped in a “super-model” whose name he did not disclose, in an effort to brighten their cast.

“We went to an extent of getting one of the best models in town so as to brighten our group set,” the elated musician said.

Another Klap member Dalvin Makhalisa weighed in: “We are going to deliver a killer performance as we have two hot girls that are going to illuminate our act.”

Explosion — another nominated Bulawayo outfit — said preparations were going on well despite financial glitches and were geared to hypnotise revellers with a scintillating act.

“We are doing the best we can to secure funds for going to Harare. But as for the performance, we have new tracks and terrific routines that are going to tear the audience apart,” he said.

Meanwhile Sithole lashed out at some of the nominees who have since boycotted the ceremony.

One of the artistes, Nicholas Muchinguri, aka POY, who was nominated for best male and best promoter award(s) reportedly snubbed the event saying the awards were of no benefit to him.
