Bravo Tours and the Child Care Ministries each donated $ 1000 to the fund. Speaking during the donation, Bulawayo deputy mayor Gift Banda said he appreciated the work done by the business community, industry and commerce and other stakeholders in Bulawayo.

“It is a great pleasure to receive such gifts. We appreciate that you have come to us and donated such a cheerful gift. May the Lord continue blessing you. The future looks bright with people like you,” Banda said.

“We thank you that you have realised that there are other people that need to be cheered during Christmas.”

Child Care Ministries and Bravo Tours promised to continue donating for the cause of the underprivileged.

“We sat down and said we have to give appreciation to Bulawayo. I am glad to say we have made it a tradition to continue supporting the underprivileged in society. This is because our operations are based here in Bulawayo,” Bravo Tours public relations officer Morgan Msipha said.

The director of Child Care ministries Dixon Changara said: “It is a privilege to be with you today. We will continue doing that and we are here to stay.”

The Cheer Fund was launched last month by Bulawayo mayor Martin Moyo with a target of $100 000 in a bid to give the underprivileged members of society a lively festive season.
