Mahachi attended trials at the South African giants last month.

“I am waiting for a response from Sundowns which will come maybe on Monday,” the forward said after picking up his award at a glitzy ceremony in Harare on Friday.

“If I do not get a positive response from Sundowns I will have to then make a decision.

“If I do not go to South Africa I would want to play for a big team like Highlanders or Dynamos.

“There are things which have been said, but what I can tell you is that I am still waiting for Sundowns after which I could them make a decision on who I will join.

“I have not finalised my plans for next season,” he said.

Mahachi said this season had been a good achievement for him as he had moved from being rookie of the year last year to being second runner-up in 2013.

“I dedicate this award to (the late) Adam Ndlovu who convinced me to join Chicken Inn,” he said.

“If it were not for him I would not be where I am at the moment.

“Commitment and dedication helped me win this award. I also told myself that I would have to work hard for the team and help create goals, some of which helped (Tendai) Ndoro get the golden boot award. It was a team effort.”

Mahachi said at the moment he would be concentrating on making an impression when the Warriors return to camp tomorrow in preparation for the African Nations Championship.

Meanwhile, Highlanders goalkeeper Munyaradzi Diya who returned from trials at Lamontville Golden Arrows in South Africa for the awards, said he was prepared to fulfill his contractual obligations with Bosso.

“The trials in South Africa went well although there is not much of a difference from the type of play we have here,” he said.

“There are a number of things I learnt, but for now all I can say is I am still contracted to Highlanders.”

Diya who was one of the soccer stars, said he had a good season at Highlanders despite the fact that they had not won the PSL title.

“It all comes down to hard work and the dedication from my teammates and the coaches,” he said.

“We worked hard and wanted to win the league, but God had other plans and we had a better end (of the season) by winning the Mbada Diamonds Cup.”

Former Chicken Inn striker Ndoro who now turns out for Mpumalanga Black Aces in South Africa attributed his success to hard work.

“It is a great feeling for me to win the golden boot award. I have been able to win it because I worked very hard despite

missing some of the matches. But since I am now with Mpumalanga, I still need to work very hard. I need to focus on my fitness,” he said.

Ndoro was accompanied by Mpumalanga Black Aces communications manager Gordon Masondo.

How Mine veteran player Menard Mupera who for the second time in his career was selected as part of the soccer stars finalists, said they were looking forward to taking part in the Caf Confederations Cup.

“It is a big stage for How Mine. We came from Division One, played well throughout the season and beat some giants. We qualified for the Mbada Diamonds final and even though we lost, we did very well as we played as a family. We are hoping to play well on the international scene,” he said.

Mupera said they were also going to try and maintain their performance for next season. He dedicated his selection to his teammates.
