Bulawayo Basketball Association (BBA) technical president Mxolisi Ndlovu confirmed the workshop.

The celebrated basketball legend conducted a similar workshop in Harare and he will conclude his mission in Zimbabwe with a four-hour workshop in the City of Kings which starts at 9am.

“We are going to have a basketball coaching workshop on Monday (tomorrow) and it will be open to every basketball coach and aspiring coaches. It is conducted by a Hall of Fame Basketball coach who had good time with big teams,” Ndlovu said.

Ramsay is among the most respected coaches in US National Basketball Association history and a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

He has been in charge of teams such as Saint Joseph’s Hawks, Philadelphia, Buffalo Braves, Portland Trail Blazers and Indiana Pacers.

Ndlovu said it will be good for the BBA fraternity to have time with the 88-year-old world celebrated basketball legend.

“Ramsay is world celebrated basketball legend as far as coaching is concerned, so I think it would be a great opportunity to share ideas with such people. I hope our basketball family will enjoy the workshop. Our worries are, however, on schools because the workshop came during a time when schools were closed.

“This workshop was going to be good for school teachers who coach basketball. Those few who can manage to come are welcome and we hope they will spread the ideas,” he said.
