This is according to next year’s calendar released by the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe (Naaz) yesterday.

Other events lined up for next month include Harare Athletics Board season opener cross-country, Bulawayo Athletics Board (BAB) cross-country championships and Matabeleland South track and field championships.

The first international major competition of the year will see athletes taking part in a Regional Cross-Country event that will be held in Botswana on February 22.

Another major international competition is lined up in March as Poland will host the IAAF World Indoor Championships while the IAAF World Half-Marathon Championships will be held in Denmark on March 29.

PPC Matopos 33-Miler which made a comeback after a long absence in Bulawayo this year will be held on April 6 while BAB has another event on the calendar; the ZITF Coca-Cola Four-Minute Mile Challenge on April 26.

Athletes have another chance of travelling out of the country as Botswana will also host the Second African Youth Olympic Games from May 22-31.
