The seven new signings include striker Brighton Mugoni who makes a return to the airmen after completing a loan spell at army side Black Rhinos last season.

Shabanie Mine goalkeeper Roy Mazingi and defender Blessed Mbavarira, relegated Tripple B’s Maxwell Mavhuto, former Hwange forward Tongai Mamina, Liberty Kim who turned out for Black Boots last season and an unnamed striker from Motor Action, complete the line-up of Chapungu’s new additions.

Chapungu head coach John Nyikadzino confirmed the latest arrivals at Thornhill Airbase.

Nyikadzino said the seven had already joined the rest of the squad for the pre-season camp at Katanga Shooting Ranch near Kwekwe.

“I can confirm that (Brighton) Mugoni has returned to Chapungu and is training with the team right now. We have also brought in Maxwell Mavhuto, Liberty Kim, Roy Mazingi and one guy from Motor Action.

“We are still negotiating with Tongai Mamina and Blessed Mbavarira, but I’m confident the deals will come through,” he said.

Chapungu will be making a return to the top-flight league after spending six years in the lower rungs of domestic football.
