They finished their round-robin stage on 13 points and are now waiting for a ruling on the Panthers-Old Miltonians (OMs) match which was abandoned due to poor officiating. Busters finished off their opponents who succumbed to a 74-0 mauling by OMs to decide their fate in the tournament.

Bulldogs made an exit in the tournament without a single point after losing all of their matches. Provincial development officer George Mukorera said the decision on the match between Panthers and OMs would be passed by the tournament organiser Sean Robinson.

He said the verdict on the matter would be released by tomorrow.

“The match between Panthers and OMs was abandoned because of poor officiating. We are waiting for a ruling by the organisers of the tournament which I am very sure will be released by Wednesday (tomorrow). No one will have the power to stand against that decision,” Mukorera said.

The match was stopped after 15 minutes of play when the referee of the day was ruled to be making dubious decisions.

OMs are second on the table with seven points, two ahead of Panthers who are on third place and still stand a chance of making it to the final if they play and win against OMs.

If the match between the two teams is ruled out, OMs will meet Busters in the finals on Saturday at Hartsfield. Mukorera said they would continue scouting for players for the provincial team.

“We will continue with the selection of the provincial team. Reuben Kumpasa is the provincial Under-21 coach, so I am sure he is keeping a watchful eye as this tournament is running so that at the end of the day he selects a good team,” he said.
