The Delta Beverages-sponsored event will see male athletes from clubs and schools gracing the occasion as they will be looking forward to book places for the finals slated for May 10 at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) grounds.

Bulawayo Athletics Board (BAB) chairman Manuel Mpofu confirmed the qualifiers at Luveve High School on Sunday after the second edition of the provincial cross-country team selection. He said only those who will be able to finish a mile in 4mins 31secs will make it to the finals.

“On February 1 we have the Coca-Cola Four-Minute Mile qualifiers at Gifford.

“This is a male event where qualifiers will compete in the finals at the ZITF on May 10. Only those who will be able to finish a mile in 4mins 31secs will make it to the finals. In the finals the time will not change and that’s where there will be prizes,” Mpofu said.

Meanwhile, BAB is expected to release the final provincial cross-country team today after having the second and final selection event on Sunday.
