FLYING Eagles Cycling Club members will converge at Tshabalala Entrance Point for a 25km cycling race on Sunday.

Club spokesperson Michael Stuhardt confirmed the event that will start at 7:30am.
He said they were hoping for a good turnout to the event, adding that the race was open to other cyclists from other clubs.
“We are going to have our 25km cycling race on Sunday. Registration for all cyclists who will be taking part will be done between 7:00am and 7:30am the race will start. We are encouraging cyclists to come in numbers as we want to see the sport growing not only at the club level, but also in the country.
“A very big turnout is expected because the event is not only restricted to club members, but also other cyclists interested from other clubs,” said Stuhardt.
Club’s best cyclists Nkulumo Dube and Thokozani Ncube are expected to steal the limelight with close contenders James Freeland, Thomas Classen and Lawrence Khumalo also expected to give them stiff competition.
Stuhardt also said Ekhaya Cyclers had confirmed that they would sponsor the race, but they had not yet disclosed the prizes.

“Ekhaya Cyclers have confirmed sponsorship for the race, but they are yet to disclose the prizes, something I am sure they will do on Sunday before the race.
“The race will also be considered when we are selecting our best cyclist of the year at the end of the season,” he said.
