With more than 1 000 online views in its first two days, the video is one of the best videos of 2014, with amazing cultural scenes, great editing skills and good sound quality.

The three-member group comprises Mqondisi “Skaiva” Sibanda, Paul “Mzoe 7” Mlauzi and Brian “Rakeem” Bangura.

Talking to Southern Eye Lifestyle in an interview the video’s director Vusa Blaqs Hlatshwayo said he was happy with the people’s response to Godobori.

“This track has brought a lot for the guys and it’s a good thing that viewers are responding well to the new works,” he said.

“The video is abstract and carries subliminal messages. Basically it pits traditional African beliefs against today’s culture and way of life.

“It tries to remind and educate people of their cultural values instead of adopting new cultural beliefs that have swiped away our sense and spirit of ubuntu.”

The video shows two young men travelling by foot in search of a godobori (traditional healer/Sangoma) so that they could consult on the culture of their forefathers.

Blaqs revealed that he has always believed in the group.

“I have always wished the best for House Rebels as they are close to me in a special way. I have no doubt that they will continue to do greater things, whenever I work with them my job is easy because the creativity just oozes out of them all I do is interpret it,” Hlatshwayo said.

The three were recently invited to this year’s Miami Winter Conference in the US.

The conference will take place from March 21 to 30 at the Miami Beach in Florida after their track debuted on DJ Gibson Ncube’s show The Link on ZI FM stereo last week.
