Chuoni FC is based in Unguja Island, the largest and most populated island of Zanzibar.

The team will be led by Zifa Matabeleland South Province chairman Nkosilathi Ncube as they plot to finish off the Zanzibaris whom they clobbered 4-0 in the first leg at Barbourfields Stadium last Saturday.

A team of 18 players, seven technical team members and five administrators and an official from Mbada Diamonds (who are the sponsors) are travelling to the island off the coast of Tanzania. How Mine chairman Mlondolozi Nkomo confirmed that they would leave this afternoon.

“We will be leaving Harare International Airport at 1pm aboard the Ethiopian Airlines to Addis Ababa and then connect direct to Zanzibar.

“We will arrive in Zanzibar around 2am on Thursday (tomorrow). We are hoping for a warm welcome, but we might get a hostile reception. What we are really worried about will be our performance on the pitch,” Nkomo said.

How Mine won through a brace by Kudakwashe Musharu, a spot-kick by skipper Menard Mupera and a Warren Dube strike at Barbourfields Stadium and head coach Philani “Beefy” Ncube yesterday said the boys were raring to go and eyeing the next round.
