Zekumbawira’s brace earned Hwange a place in the final which they lost 0-2 to FC Platinum.

This time Zekumbawira, who had a short stint with Dynamos last year, marred by injury, returns to Emagumeni with the hope of repeating his feat of two years ago against Bosso.

The arrival of the striker at Harare City could be a boost for City, who lost Silas Songani to Danish top-flight football side Sonderjyske. City also have former Highlanders striker Misheck Mburayi, Osborne Mukuradare, William Manondo and Martin Vengesayi.

Harare City and Highlanders have met five times since 2012 with Bosso winning three of those and facing their biggest humiliation last season at the hands of the Sunshine City Boys at the penultimate stages of the league.

Bosso were thumped 4-0 under the guidance of former assistant coach Bekithemba “Super” Ndlovu in Harare while head coach Kelvin Kaindu was away attending a high-profile coaching course in England.

Harare City recently unveiled eight new signings to bolster their squad for the 2014 season and these are Zekumbawira (Hwange), Mburayi (Triangle), Takudzwa Chimwemwe (Twalumba), Agrippa Muripa (Monomotapa), Timire Mamvura (Triple B), Mhleli Sibanda (FC Platinum), Benson Maglasi and Arnold Chivheya both former Caps United.

However, Bigboy Mawiwi’s boys will not have it easy at Barbourfields as Zambian gaffer Kaindu has an ace up his sleeve and Bosso has been on the market grabbing key players in the Premier Soccer league to bolster their squad.

Highlanders have brought on board Felix Chindungwe, Joel Ngodzo, Charles Sibanda, Valentine Ndaba, Welcome Ndiweni, Njabulo Nyoni and Khumbulani Banda while retaining shot stopper Munyaradzi Diya, Milton Ncube, Mthulisi Maphosa, Simon Munawa, Innocent Mapuranga, Eric Mudzingwa, Gabriel Nyoni and Peter Moyo.

Both teams could throw in their new signings to assess them for this season with the winner taking on defending champions Dynamos in the final.
