Nkomo, who is also the chief executive officer of Habbakuk Trust and a Southern Eye columnist said he was inspired by United States President Barak Obama who also wrote a book based on his experiences before he became president.

“I am inspired by Obama who wrote at least two books way before he became president. Today’s leaders have to be leaders that write and not leaders that just talk and there is no documentation or thought track or thought direction,” Nkomo said.

Academic Elkim Sibanda from Winnipeg in Canada is reviewing and editing Nkomo’s book set to be published and launched in Bulawayo in April.

Nkomo said the book was part of a series that he intends publishing this year, adding that he believed the books “will provide a sense of direction for the nation. The first edition of the book is a series of articles that I have been writing over the past three years and I may include other articles that I wrote as far back as the year 2000,” Nkomo said.

“I actually realised that a lot of the articles were predictive and accurate in their forecasts and prognosis, for example, an article which I wrote in 2005 predicting what would happen if Zanu PF won.”

“I have written about elections rigging and all these things have happened and I believe that if I put these articles together they will provide a sense of direction for the nation.

“Some of the articles are emotional, some academic, some inspirational. I believe it is important for one to put one’s thoughts and philosophies on paper.”
