The summit will be held in Midrand, South Africa, from April 8 to 9.

Moyo confirmed that he will deliver a keynote address and presenta position paper on coal mining investment opportunities in Zimbabwe where there is huge potential in the country’s rail network.

“There is huge investment potential in the country’s coal mining industry whose product is best in the region with good infrastructure and will also take the opportunity to position the country as a safe investment destination,” he said.

Some of the issues to be discussed include importance of regional co-operation for transport for landlocked countries, comparing South Africa and other emerging coal exporters in Africa, exporting coal from “pit to port seamlessly” , engaging parastatal and government departments to ensure swift and timeous move coal movement.

Some of the key speakers who will grace the occasion include Victor Rakabopa, the Hwange Colliery general manager operations, Charles Siwawa, chief executive officer of Botswana Chamber of Mines, Brenda Horne Ferreira, founder and past chief executive officer of Maputo Corridor Initiative, James Fungai Maposa a consulting manager with Frost and Sullivan.

Other expert speakers are Marissa Damons from Ports Regulators of Soiuth Africa, Lebogang Letsoalo, the SASOL general manager supply chain and Sifiso Nzimande from Transnet Freight Rail among others.
