The Notorious BIG-inspired artiste told Southern Eye Lifestyle he is currently working on a video for one of the songs from the album dubbed Legacy.

Sibanda (21), born and raised in Romney Park, said Legacy is a hip-hop song which expresses how he is going to leave a mark in the hip-hop music industry.

“I have raised the standard high and I am determined that this will be the first video from Bulawayo to appear on Trace and on MTV Base, music channels aired on Digital Satellite Television,” he said

The 15-track album, set to be released in April, was recorded at First Class, a local studio. Yung Tyran has collaborated with Bulawayo hip-hop artistes Kwan Fire and Pearson.

Sibanda is urging all Zimbabweans to pay more attention to music from their motherland rather than turning a deaf ear to it, saying local support would help motivate the artistes to produce hit after hit.

The youthful singer — a graphic designer by profession — said his music career started in 2009 and dreams of becoming an internationally-renowned artiste.

“I see myself touring worldwide and working with local artiste Tehn Diamond based in Harare and international artiste the African Whiz Kid, Khuli Chanaa and hip-hop artistes from South Africa,” he said.

Sibanda bemoaned the sidelining of Bulawayo artistes by national radio stations.

“There is so much talent in Bulawayo that needs to be promoted,” he added.
