A 24-YEAR-OLD Gweru man who could not stomach the reality of separating from his wife visited and allegedly struck her with a brick on the head accusing her of seeing other men.

Bruce Sukwini went to their former matrimonial home where his ex-wife, Chandapiwa Mashiri, still stays and allegedly accused her of prostitution.
Sukwini appeared before Gweru magistrate Tendai Madanhire on charges of physical abuse and was remanded in custody to April 3.
It was the State’s case that on March 26 this year at around 1am, Sukwini went to Mashiri’s place and knocked on the door. When there was no response, Sukwini open the door and went inside. Mashiri woke up and asked Sukwini to leave. A lit candle went off and Sukwini asked why she had blown it off and demanded to know who else was in the room.
He allegedly struck Mashiri on the left arm with an empty beer bottle before pulling her to the door. He also allegedly pulled off some of her hair extensions while dragging her outside the house.
Sukwini allegedly kneed Mashiri in the stomach and she fell unconscious. He allegedly picked up a brick and struck her on the head and face.
