Dancehall fusion at Forty-40 tonight

ZIMBABWE’S rising reggae and dancehall outfit Legendary Sounds will tonight invade Bulawayo when they perform at Club Forty-40 before an expected full-house in the run-up to the Easter holidays.

The group, which comprises DJ Smylie of the Usadaro fame, Mad Vancho and Merciless, will share the stage with Bulawayo’s own dancehall guru Felix Debwe.

Sibanengi Ndebele popularly known as DJ Mzoe, in an interview said: “The popular group will perform tonight till the early hours of the next morning. This will be their second show in Bulawayo this year and they have promised nothing but fireworks.”

DJ Mzoe urged all to come and have fun on the night. “Every party lover should come and enjoy the night away. The show will give fans a chance to get a good taste of the music from the group as they have proven to be exceptional when it comes to reggae and dancehall,” he added.

They are known for setting night clubs and shows on fire with their splendid mix of the latest, old reggae and dancehall sounds.

Centre Party, who came on the music scene in early March 2011 with chart-topping song Mhando Yepamusoro, said he was excited to share the stage with the Legendary Sounds.

“I am honoured to perform alongside Legendary Sounds; this is a chance to challenge them in a good way. We have talent in Bulawayo and this is an opportunity for me to showcase that talent,” Centre Party said.

The dance-hall artiste was named best urban grooves artiste of the year in 2011 at the Annual Hustlers Road-to-Fame competitions in Bulawayo and was credited for bringing the award to Bulawayo after many years of dominance by Harare-based artistes.

Legendary sounds Harare Power FM stereo DJ Ngoni Madzima said he was looking forward to the show.

“I am glad to share the stage with Centre Party. He is my favourite dancehall artiste in Bulawayo and is a friend of mine,” Madzima said.

The club’s resident Djs Ash T and Mzoe will entertain fans on the eventful night.
