A solitary Clemence Matawu goal was all what Chicken Inn needed to collect three points to register their second win of the season.

The GameCocks were handed a chance to increase their goal tally from the penalty spot, but skipper Danny Phiri had his effort saved by outstanding Rhinos goalkeeper Herbert Rusawo.

The match was marred by acts of juju in the early stages as Chipembere fans had spotted something which they said was juju which Chicken Inn goalkeeper Liberty Chirava had put at his goal area.

Veteran Rhinos striker Phillip Marufu eventually picked up the so-called juju and threw it to the terraces.

Black Rhinos created a sea of clear scoring opportunities, but their strikers took turns to fluff them with the miss of the day coming in the seventh minute when Martin Mine got to the end of a loose ball in the box, but directed his effort way off target.

Chicken Inn were rewarded for their resilience in the 35th minute when Matawu coolly nodded home a Passmore Bernard cross from the left which proved to be too powerful for the stretching Rusawo.

After half-time, Black Rhinos were awarded a free-kick just outside the box. Up stepped Trevor Ajana who watched in disbelief as his blistering shot hit the cross bar before trickling out with Chirava beaten all systems out. Chicken Inn substitute Ishmael Lawe was hacked down in the penalty box by Bruce Homora and referee Nomore Musundire pointed on the penalty spot. But Phiri who could not believe his eyes as Rusawo stretched to the left to deny him.
