AN inmate at Khami Remand Prison on Tuesday complained to Bulawayo senior magistrate Sibongile Msipa that prison warders blocked his relatives from providing him food, money and other goods over lousy reasons. STAFF REPORTER
Alphios Chitsa, who is facing a rape charge, made the complaint while on routine remand at the Bulawayo Magistrates’ Court..
“Your worship, the prison officers are giving me a lot of challenges. They prevent my relatives from bringing me food and recently told my father that he can’t give me money, but can only leave it at the reception,” Chitsa said.
“I understand he left the money at the reception, but they have not bought me food. He also brought me some rice, but they returned it to him saying he should not bring uncooked food.”
