Andro, as he is popularly known in Bulawayo’s night life circles, was taken to court by Ncube yesterday demanding $458 for the upkeep of the child.

However, the DJ contested the amount that was being demanded by Ncube arguing that his salary at Monarch where he works as an IT programmer did not add to that much.

“Your worship, I don’t earn that amount she is demanding,” Andro said.

Magistrate Victor Mpofu asked: “How much do you earn? Where do you work?”

“At Monarch,” replied Andro.

He went on to produce his payslip which indicated that did not earn anything in excess of $371.

“How much are you offering?” asked Mpofu.

“$50 and also your worship I have doubts that the child is mine because I understand that she had another boyfriend. She only decided to make me responsible for the pregnancy because I was gainfully employed. I am asking the court to facilitate a paternity test,” Andro added.

“But you admit that you had sex with her?” further asked Mpofu.

“Yes,” Andro replied.

“Yes. So you should take care of the child’s 51% indigenisation. I order you to pay $85 for the upkeep the child and also raise the money for paternity tests as soon as possible,” ruled Mpofu.

This was after Ncube had told the court that Andro never took care of the child since its birth.

“He has also two other jobs that of a DJ and also repairs laptops. He is paid the amount I have demanded and can take care of his child. How does he fail to pay the money when he has money to engage other women?” asked Ncube.

She went on to remove the child’s hat to show the magistrate how similar she child was to Andro.

“I can see that. He will take care of his child,” said Mpofu.

The breakdown of Ncube’s demands indicated $288 was for food and groceries for the child, including formula milk, $30 medical expenses and $140 for clothes, specifically premium pampers.

One of Andro’s female relatives is said to have told Ncube lover that his brother “was practising on top of her to prove his virility whether he could sire a child or not”.

According to those privy to two former lover’s fallout, after impregnating Ncube, the popular DJ decided to ditch her for Langa who also gained fame on national television, presenting a local programme titled Zim IneStyle.
