With a minute left to fulltime and ZPC on course for a first defeat of the season, Pride Tafirenyika struck before Trevor Chikede scrapped the draw a minute into injury time.

Edmore Muzanenhamo had thrust How Mine ahead early into the match before Kuda Musharu doubled their lead seven minutes after the restart.

The visitors interpreted Chikede’s goal as offside as ZPC Kariba extended their unbeaten run to eight games.

Despite blowing away three points right at the death, How Mine coach Philani Ncube was happy with a point they gained and credited referee Thomas Masaa with influencing the match’s outcome.

“Week in week out we have a problem of referees and then there is a crisis,” Ncube said.

“Strategically they came good in the last five minutes, but their second goal left a lot to be desired. That was an offside plus an infringement on our player. There is something wrong there. But I am happy with a point. Honestly I am happy. If you get a point away from home it is like a win. We will keep on getting those points.

“We had switched off the power station, but the referee switched them on and fortunately God intervened. God knew it would end 2-2.” ZPC Kariba Saul Chaminuka sent in Artwell Nyamiwa on the hour mark seeking a goal and it paid off.

He felt they should have won the match.

“This is one game I almost lost and would say I had a feeling I was not going to lose,” Chaminuka said.

“The substitutions we made plus a change in tactics saved us. Instead of playing two strikers we added one man and ended up with three strikers. We now had midfielders and How Mine ended up with four midfielders behind (Kuda) Musharu. That was the time for us to push up and look for goals.”
