Highlanders reclaimed the top spot after dispatching Buffaloes 3-1 at Sakubva Stadium on Sunday to sit on 19 points and have gone nine matches unbeaten with five wins and four draws.

Charles Sibanda grabbed a brace with a deflection of his shot by defender Liberty Chakoroma making the third for Bosso.

They are only one point ahead of Hwange who hammered Shabanie Mine 3-0 at the Colliery and have only lost one match with How Mine trudging along with 17 points after a 2-2 draw with ZPC Kariba in Harare on Saturday.

Hwange scored through Evans Rusike, Gilbert Zulu and Tafara Chese.

Dynamos follow with 16 points after edging Chiredzi 1-0 at Chishamiso. ZPC Kariba are on 15 points.

Bosso and ZPC Kariba are the only teams that have remained unbeaten heading into this weekend’s international break.

Hwange coach Nation Dube has predicted a tough season.

“The competition is very tough this year. If you look at the way things are, the team that is at the top and the one on position eight are separated by just two matches. It is very tough and just one game changes everything. But it’s been a good start for us. We want to avoid fighting relegation and as it stands what we need to get is just 12 points then we are safe. But it was a tough match against Shabanie, who could have won and would have been on top of us. We got our first goal in the 71st minute,” Dube said.

But the man to watch this season is none other than How Mine striker Kudakwashe Musharu who got his eighth goal of the season on Saturday against ZPC Kariba at Gwanzura Stadium.

His raids have seen him get the attention of Warriors head coach Ian Gorowa. He played his first match for the national team against Tanzania last weekend in the 2015 African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier first round first leg.

He is in the Warriors camp for this weekend’s first round, second leg Afcon 2015 tie against Tanzania set for the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

FC Platinum were also on the rampage on Saturday crashing Triangle 4-0 at Mandava on Saturday while Chicken Inn beat Chapungu United 2-1 at Luveve on Saturday after losing by the same margin to neighbours Bantu Rovers last Tuesday.

Bantu Rovers went on to lose to Caps United 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
