Former Quelaton striker Kundishora Chakanyuka, who scored a brace last week in the 7-1 demolition of Old Nic Mine was on target once again for Chiefs with the second goal coming from Wallace Magalane.

Chiefs, coached by former Quelaton gaffer Thulani Sibanda, are now on 19 points from eight matches, having only lost once, drawn once and won six times.

They would still face stiff challenge in the league from Matabeleland North’s Tsholotsho FC, who have 14 points and have only played six matches with their weekend game against Old Nic Mine postponed.

Chiefs are once again away in their next match as they travel to Hwange for a date with ZPC in the coal mining town next weekend.

ZPC did not kick any ball at the weekend as Zimbabwe Saints have been kicked out of the league. They have played seven matches and garnered 12 points.

Victoria Falls-based Trumus, coached by former Tripple B boss Peter Manoti, shot to position four from seven with 13 points after beating third-placed Technosphere 2-0 at home on Sunday while the Agent Sawu-coached Ntabazinduna Prison also rose three places to position six with 12 points after beating Mpumalanga 2-1 at home.

Trumus handed Technosphere their first defeat of the season and the only team that remains unbeaten is the Lizwe Sweswe-coached Tsholotsho FC. Black Boots, last year’s contenders for the championship, registered their third win this season when they beat army side Elephant FC 2-1 away from home at HQ1 Brigade to get to 10 points on Saturday.
