JOHANNESBURG — Former marketing and events manager Patricia Kambarami has been named new chief operating officer of South Africa’s Titans cricket franchise.

A cricket administrator known for her relentless pursuit of excellence and a keen appreciator of team work, Kambarami’s appointment was widely expected. She was born in Bulawayo. Her parents, Anna and Douglas Chingoka, later moved to Harare.

“It is well deserved. I have no doubt she is the perfect person for this new challenge. Patricia is also 100% focused on delivery for the sake of the franchise’s continual commercial success,” Titans chief executive officer Jacques Faul said.

She completed a graduate diploma in marketing manager at the Institute of Marketing Management in South Africa. Kambarami also holds a certificate management programme in sports events and project management at the graduate school of business of the University of Witwatersrand.

In 2003, she worked as venue assistant for World Sport Nimbus, an organisation that managed the commercial property of the International Cricket Council at the Cricket World Cup in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Arguably the highlight of her academic career was the completion of a masters of Business Administration from the Nottingham Trent University.
