The ceremony, hosted by P&P Global Marketing Inc, was successfully held at the Charles Austin theatre on Friday night.
A total of 16 accolades were up for grabs and deserving artistes walked home with happy faces.
Proud Masekesa of P&P Global Marketing Inc said the awards were a success considering it was a first for the province.
“The event was amazing, the turnout was incredible and the performances were exceptional. This has triggered a whole different league of artists in Masvingo and the whole city is waiting for next year’s awards.
“To all the winners we hope they keep up the good work, those who didn’t make it should not throw in the towel, but should work harder and next year they will be bigger and better,” Masekesa said.
Winner for best hip-hop gong Prince Butawo popularly known as Noble Stylz in the entertainment circles, echoed the same sentiments with Masekesa.

“The show was great and I was impressed with the initiative because there was going to be a moment when the Masvingo music circle had to salute their own, the country should be ready to see more artistes from the ancient city shine.”
Noble Stylz, now Harare-based, has grown to be a force to reckon in Zimbabwe’s hip-hop sector and when he received his award all the artistes lined up on stage in respect of his works.
“I have been the city’s ambassador in the music industry for some time and the respect was shown when all the artistes lined up as I received the award.
“The award is for hip-hop, the city and my fans,” Noble Stylz said.
Entertainment was provided by Alcahemy, Okeye Swagmore, Nash and Flexer, among others, and the city mayor Hubert Pfidze also graced the ceremony as the guest of honour.
