Dumisani Mlotshwa of Chinotimba high-density suburb was convicted on his own plea of guilty when he appeared before the Victoria Falls resident magistrate Sharon Rosemani.

It was the State’s case that sometime in August at around 7pm Stephen Mlotshwa came from Chinotimba beer hall smocking tobacco and found Dumisani sitted in the kitchen.

Dumisani asked Stephen for some cigarettes and he refused.

This did not go down well with Dumisani who grabbed him by the collar before sticking him once with open hands on the face and stabbing him twice under his armpit.

Stephen was ferried to the hospital. Dumisani was arrested.

Dumisani was handed a five-month sentence of which three months were suspended for four years on condition he does not commit a similar offence.

The remaining two months were suspended on condition he performs 70 hours community service at the Victoria Falls court.
