Bulawayo Provincial Administrator Khonzani Ncube has been appointed as the new chairperson while Highlanders board member Elkanah Dube is the new vice-chairperson.

Dube is the principal at Hillside Teachers’ College, one of the village venues for the games to be hosted by Bulawayo in December. Ncube was Dzimba’s deputy.

Langa also appointed Dave Simba as the chairperson of marketing, media and fundraising. Langa said Dzimba was being relieved of his duties because of distance from the city as he is resident in the Midlands.

“I have decided to reconfigure the local organising committee as follows. The current chairperson Dzimba will be released from his office. I have decided to elevate the provincial administrator of the Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Khonzani Ncube to chairperson of the LOC deputised by the principal of Hillside Teachers’ College Elkanah Dube. We thank Dzimba for having led the LOC from its inception since last July. He has played his part,” he said.
