The army side is struggling to pay players their winning bonuses and salaries and currently morale is reportedly to be at its lowest ebb.

After starting the season convincingly, the army side took the foot off the pedal and they are still reeling from three successive defeats.

They were crushed 1-5 by Triangle at Gibbo Stadium before losing 1-3 against Highlanders at home and their last defeat came against Black Rhinos in 0-1 scoreline in Kadoma on Saturday.

Another defeat at home would likely spell a doom for the soldiers who have so far collected 14 points from the first 10 matches of the season and they are occupying ninth position on the log standings.

How Mine are within the leading pack as they have collected 18 points from the same matches and currently lie on fourth position just two points away from log leaders Highlanders and a win today will ensure they go on top of the standings.

In an interview yesterday, Buffaloes coach Luke Masomere said he was ready for the war despite the issues in his camp.

“This is the game we must win at all costs and I am confident that we are going to collect maximum points,” he said.

“I think I have a full strength squad at my disposal for the first time in almost three matches. We do not have any injuries to worry about,” he said.

“The major challenge l am having in my camp is that morale is low. The players need food on the table, they need to be paid. I have to tried my level best to motivate them,” he added.

The match is expected to be beamed live on SuperSport 9.
