CAPE TOWN — Nomonde Shabalala never thought a night of chilling with her lover and a Zimbabwean friend could end in cannibalism. But when she got back from buying vodka at a tavern, she found her boyfriend face down in his blood.
And her friend was sitting on him — eating his heart with a fork and knife!
Nomonde of Malunga Park in Cape Town’s Gugulethu told the Sun of her horror on finding her mutilated 62-year-old boyfriend and her blood-smeared friend.
“I screamed and neighbours came quickly,” the shattered Nomonde said. “Police and paramedics were called. They saw what happened.
“I haven’t been able to sleep. I’m still shocked. I keep asking myself why my friend would do such a thing to the love of my life. It’s a nightmare!”
Nomonde’s friend owns a car spray painting business. A neighbour said: “The man was visiting the couple as usual. But then he did the worst thing possible! We didn’t know he was a man-eater! I have never seen a human heart being eaten! What made it worse was that he had a fork and knife and looked so relaxed!
“His prison keys must be thrown away,” the neighbour said.
“He came for business opportunities in South Africa, and behaved like a cannibal!”
