BULAWAYO’S Gilmore Tee Moyo — rated as one of the most influential young leaders in Zimbabwe — has landed acting roles in two upcoming locally-produced films, barely a month after arriving from his temporary base in Senegal.

Southern Eye Lifestyle yesterday established that Moyo who has been criss-crossing the world of late, would feature in films Qiniso and Blueskyz.

Moyo has been based in Senegal representing Action Aid International. He first made a name for himself at the age of 16 when he was nominated to represent the country in Brazil for an international youth exchange programme.

In an interview with Southern Eye Lifestyle Lenin Sibanda, the co- producer of the film Qiniso, said he needed an authoritative character in the film that has been exposed to the media scene.

“When we created the film we wanted a powerful character to portray the image of a media mogul, Gilmore matched the character as he had been making waves locally and internationally in the media scene,” he said.

Moyo — raised by a single parent — said the character he is portraying in the film is far removed from the person he is.

“The character that I am portraying is a controlling man who is intimidated by a woman who is working for me at a media company. The character is demanding and sabotages some of the woman’s projects. My real self respects and adores women. I grew up having a mom who played the role of a mother and a father in my life and I respect her as a queen,” he explained.

The producer of Blueskyz, Fortune Tazvivinga, said Moyo would be taking up a supporting act in the film as a fashionist.

Moyo added that he always knew growing up that he was destined for greatness.

“I have always been involved in arts from a tender age and always knew I had a creative side in me. I take my work seriously and I would like my works to lead to the betterment of other people’s lives. If you believe in yourself, people will also believe in you,” he said.

The 24-year-old over-achiever is the founder and manager of Deck Magazine and Hunnar Management Agency.

He has received many prestigious awards including the Eduzine Global young Achievers’ Award in 2014 and was nominated for Style icon of the year at the Zimbabwe Fashion Week Awards in 2013.

He was voted the world’s most influential young person by a United Kingdom magazine.
