The 46-year-old man from Rubingo village under Chief Mazvihwa appeared before Zvishavane magistrate Story Rushambwa to answer an indecent assault charge as defined in Section 67 (1)(a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act chapter 9:2.

The court heard that the man, who was recently granted bail in a rape charge, had returned to his homestead in Mazvihwa and arrived when everyone was asleep.

He then headed to his aunt’s homestead where his 18-year-old daughter stays.

He allegedly slipped into the blankets where his daughter and a cousin were sleeping and ordered his daughter to go outside and urinate.

She refused saying she was not pressed and he allegedly went on top of her and performed sexual simulations.

The following day, his daughter and cousin reported the case to a member of the neighborhood watch at Vugwi business centre on their way to school leading to the father’s arrest.

Rushambwa denied the man bail saying he had become a sex pest and remanded him in custody to July 1.
