According to a report in the Milton Keynes Citizen, the Toffees are close to completing the transfer, with Galloway noticeably absent from training last week and left out of the Dons squad for their current training trip in Ireland.

Manager Karl Robinson has so far refused to confirm any deal is in place, but with rumours surrounding Galloway’s future continuing to circulate, the move could even be completed by the end of the week.

One for the future, Galloway made his first-team debut for MK Dons at the tender age of just 15 back in November 2011.

Capable of playing either as a midfielder or defender, the Zimbabwe-born player made 13 appearances in total for the Dons last term, scoring his first ever goal for the club in a 4-1 win over Halifax Town in the FA Cup.

Set to be integrated into Everton’s youth set-up, Galloway was evidently drawn to the Toffees’ excellent track record for bringing players from their youth ranks through to the first team, as demonstrated by the emergence of Ross Barkley.

Alternatively, he could even benefit from a loan spell away from the club in much the same way Seamus Coleman and Shane Duffy have in recent years.

One potential option could see Everton purchase the player and immediately loan him back to MK Dons, though these plans will be subject to the wishes of Galloway himself.

He may not be the only Milton Keynes youngster to be heading to Merseyside either, with Liverpool consistently linked with a move for Dons star Dele Alli.

Norwich City meanwhile are preparing for yet more upheaval within their playing squad following relegation from the Baeclays Premier League.
