A DETE man has appeared at the Hwange Magistrates’ Court facing allegations of entering into a 48-year-old woman’s bedroom naked and demanding sex. NOKUTHABA DLAMINI OWN CORRESPONDENT
Bruce Mathema (23) of Bote township appeared before Hwange provincial magistrate Lindiwe Maphosa and pleaded not guilty to unlawful entry into premises, criminal insult and possession of mbanje.
Prosecutor Tinomuteyi Mbiza told the court that on July 8, Mathema left his house naked and forcibly entered Neli Nyambe’s bedroom at around 9pm.
Mathema allegedly used a knife to force open the door into Nyambe’s house.
It was alleged that he found Nyambe asleep and slipped into her blankets.
He allegedly started fondling her and she woke up and started screaming.
She switched on the light and saw that it was her neighbour Mathema and told the naked man to leave her house, but he refused saying he would only do so if she satisfied his sexual needs.
Nyambe then went to report the matter to Dete police who attended to the scene and found Mathema still stark naked on Nyambe’s bed smoking mbanje.

The cops found Mathema in possession of three twists of mbanje and arrested him.
He was remanded in custody to July 16 for continuation of trial.
