Chikafa and Makanje are part of four players suspended from participating in this week’s round of fixtures for accumulating three yellow cards.

Other players who have been sidelined for a similar reason are Highlanders’ Welcome Ndiweni and Bruce Homora of Black Rhinos.

However, it is ZPC Kariba who would feel a lot more paralysed going into their latest fixtures, as Chikafa and Makanje have been very influential in what has been a fairytale season so far for the league debutants.

Chikafa, in particularly, has been scoring crucial goals for the team, including the cushion goal in ZPC Kariba’s 2-0 win over Hwange at the Colliery last week.

That was Hwange’s second defeat at their home ground this season.

ZPC Kariba will also be without coach Saul Chaminuka and his assistant Godfrey Tamirepi.

They are attending a coaching course in Harare, but in goalkeeper’s coach Tembo Chuma, the two know the team is in good hands.

Chuma was at the helm when the team won at Hwange and has learnt a trick or two from his stint at Highlanders under Kelvin Kaindu.

A win would see ZPC moving to 27 points and sharing the top position with Highlanders who would be in action on Sunday against Bantu Rovers.

Chicken Inn have been very inconsistent this season. After two straight wins against Chiredzi and Hwange, they drew 0-0 against Dynamos and were beaten by Caps United last week where they put up a horrible performance.

Joey Antipas’ team has 20 points and sit seventh on the log standings and if the Bulawayo side harbour any hopes of winning the title this year, they will have to find their consistency — beginning with a win against a team without a loss so far.
